ANALOG TAPE RECORDING! WOW!

Back in my early days, I loved recording on analog tape. Because I loved the studio and the studio meant tape. That’s all there was. But have you ever done a session, let alone an entire record / CD / project on tape?

Is your goal to have a special experience or is it to make the best music you can, all things considered, including your budget? Tape requires a LOT of extra time and energy, MONEY, and specialized knowledge (which I have BTW).

It also requires a LOT of interruption to the creative process that is a thing of the past with modern recording. I prefer to get right to the music.

There is one caveat for tape: the need to be decisive. We just don’t get the choices we have with modern DAW recording. And sometimes NO choices.

I’m not going to argue which sounds better…that is subjective.
